Our Story – Bjørn Blades of Scandinavia
We in the Nordics know ice. For centuries, we’ve travelled on ice to get to places that cannot be reached any other way. We’ve sawn holes in the ice to go swimming, to fish and to wash laundry. And we’ve also skated on the ice – winning world championships and Olympic medals.
Even the Vikings are known to have skated with ice skates made from animal bone. If the Vikings had had skates made from steel, who knows what world history would look like today. For steel is a blade material like no other: when it’s even and sharp, it gives a skater superior speed and power. Nothing will stand in your way as you compete for the win, break records and achieve incredible feats.
We at Bjørn focus on taming the ice, controlling the uncontrollable. In world-class sports, sudden chips, cuts and dents on your blades can slow you down and cost you dearly – a flaw of just a few tenths of a millimeter in the blade will prevent perfect sharpening.
That is why we have developed Viking Steel blades. We have sourced the best steel out there and developed brand-new innovations that allow us to cut steel with extreme precision and mount blades on skates. We will continue to innovate so that everyone can focus on skating and discover their inner Viking.
